Telangana: NMC Cancels Medical Seats in 3 Colleges

The NMC has cancelled admission to UG and PG seats in three private medical colleges citing lack of infrastructure and faculty shortage as the factor behind the decision. The three private colleges, namely MNR Medical College and Hospital, Sangareddy, Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences, Vikarabad, and TRR Institute of Medical Sciences, Patancheru had a total of 450 MBBS seats cancelled by the commission along with 70 postgraduate seats cancelled in MNR Medical College and Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences.

Recently, the NMC conducted several surprise inspections of colleges across the country assessing the faculty strength, infrastructure, and patient inflow at the teaching hospitals. It issued cancellation orders after admissions into medical college through NEET counseling 2021-2022 was completed leaving the students in the lurch who have taken admission into these colleges. Moreover, classes have also started for 2nd-year students in some colleges.

NMC cancelled the UG, and PG seats in courses like anatomy, biochemistry, and ophthalmology in MNR College, while all PG classes for pediatrics, Orthopaedics, and MD General medicine were cancelled in Mahavir College.
